MyPhoneCompany has offerings that are roughly equivilant to most other VoIP service providers but nothing that sets them apart.
MyPhoneCompany's Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service plan, My Home Unlimited U.S. and Canada offers unlimited calling anywhere in the United States and Canada and standard calling features for $24.99 a month. International calls are charged per minute and rates vary. If you place international calls, compare rates for the countries you call carefully. As is case with other providers, MyPhoneCompany’s international rates were competitive in for many coutries but not so for others.
MyPhoneCompany charges a one-time setup fee of $29.99 and is one of a rather few services we reviewed that does not charge a cancellation fee. A phone adapter is included with your service. Naturally, return of the adapter is required upon cancellation of the service.
My Home's calling features include Voicemail, Caller ID, 3-way Calling, Speed Dial, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, Call Transfer, Call Blocking, Do Not Disturb and Call Return (*69). MyPhoneCompany charges $15.00 to activate the Enhanced 911 Dialing feature which we find unacceptable.
Additional services available at an additional cost include additional phone lines, softphone, virtual numbers and toll-free numbers.
As with other VoIP calling services, it is necessary to have a high-speed internet connection in place in advance of set up. Then just connect the Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) to the broadband modem and plug your phone into the adapter.
MyPhoneCompany provides email support and large FAQ, but thet don't offer telephone support or online help. To their credit, they responded to questions through email within 24 hours. While still worth considering and certainly offering more for your dollar than traditional landline services, our higher ranked VoIP providers offer a better feature set for about the same price.
